Kraken's Journal Well, this is my first entry and what-not, so... No idea what to say, so I'll just post story ideas, like all the other writers here who do this sort of thing. Some of them I may just discard, but there are many others I'm pretty sure I'll stick with. Enjoy, if you like this sort of thing. The Explorers: A renaissance man raised by a secret society of Tesla, Edison and others, joins forces with his aspiring-mad scientist brother, an ace pilot and master martial artist, a cyborg mechanic, a super-sniper, and an adventurer archeologist to fight cosmic horrors, travel through time, and visit alien worlds in a living, city-sized, sentient ship, all for the pursuit of knowledge and fun. Peacemaker: Young Jim Smith leads a content and uninteresting life working at his father's gun shop in Somewhere, Floridae. But all that changes when his father and he is put on the road to serve as the Law's armorer. Leading the army of Law is the Peacemaker, a mythical hero who must challenge the will of a fledgling empire. But deep in the bowels of Terra, angry infernal machines rise... Giants: A webcomic. In a world much similar to ours, Giants examines the lives and experiences of men, gods, monsters, and spirits of landmark statues serving as planetary defenders. Thanks, Dad. You're the best: A comic, inspired by this 4chan meme. A grieving father retreats into his comic-sketching pad to find solace in an artificial daughter of paper and ink. Crafting an entire life for the fictional character, he neglects his wife who is grieving as well. The paper child takes control, pulls her 'father' into his sketchpad, and they undertake a trip from the man's childhood beginnings to his fictional creations, all to prepare him for another, far longer journey. Doc Kraken - The Death of a Renaissance Man: In the early twentieth century, the Great Old One named Cthulu attacked the earth. The greatest minds of that generation banded together to fight the abomination, and were dubbed by the public as the "Action Scientists". Their victory was Pyrrhic, as they managed to push the dark dreamer back, perishing in the process. The only survivor was Daniel Krakowski, a Black-Polish intern of that collaborative, cursed to bear the Cthulu's visage, strength, and the fettered minds of the core Action Scientists. Now, Daniel must learn to cope with an utterly freakish appearance, inhuman powers beyond that of mortal men, the chatter of infuriated geniuses in his head, and a world that already hates him, all the while fighting the Lord of R'lyeh's angry kin. Coffeeshop: Four female artists meet twice a week to talk about their projects and personal lives. One likes anime, one likes science fiction, one likes fantasy, and one likes funny animals. Mandate of Heaven: Stereotypical high fantasy, but with Chinese gods. The High Jade Courts face the united free ghosts of the Underworld. Blessed Be: A horror urban fantasy with completely Christian mythology, based on the idea that Jesus was a bit too generous with his works; those that he healed became immortals, those who he cast demons out of became exorcists, and those that he rebuked became monsters. Buddhatomic: (Jack Kirby-like comic) In the far future, the Buddhatomic faith has taken the forefront of organized religion and scientific advance. Entire planets are sculpted to the Buddhatomic ideal: enormous power harnessed through the middle path. But the enlightened councils face other faiths as well: the Hindielectric temples, the Taosolar shrines, the Judaimechanic synagogues, the Christianokinetic churches...War is on the horizon, and all sides claim to be in the right. Each faith is building their own messiahs and pitting them against each other in a battle royale of theology, weaponry, and machinery. Who will emerge victorious? Will the system survive this conflict? To Serve In Hell: Everyone knows that Hell only produces four kinds of demons; sadists, tricksters, deal-making business men, and workers who shirk their duties as much as possible. They're just people doing their jobs and getting by as well as possible. But lately, that has begun to change. New beings rise from the inferno, full of the fire of faith and religious fervor. And they believe in a cause greater than themselves. These new zealot demons preach words of faith and justice and fairness and destiny, and where they speak, armies of the faithful gather. What shape will infernal society take? Can the authority of the Infernal Dukes suppress this uprising? Can the forces of Heaven stand against the forces of righteous demons? More stuff some other time, and it'll most likely be world-building documents of Peacemaker and Giants more likely and often that not. Current mood: anxious.Current music: They're Everywhere - Jim's Big Ego. |
